Eastern State Penitentiary, PA Case#20100806-001 – August 6, 2010
Please be aware we had to remove our current audio player, as a result evps do not show a player but show a link which you can click on. The file will open and play. To return to this page please hit the back button.
Using headphones will aid in listening to these files.
Any Evp that is enhanced will have a note. The only reason we amplify/normalize a file is to make it easier to listen to without a headset. Please note that not all the evps found at a particular site have been listed. The “words” are what we think is being said but you may hear something different. We encourage you to share what you think you hear.
The crackling or noise you hear was the team walking. There is a lot of debris on the floor in Eastern State. Additionally when you hear 2 chimes that is the sound of the hand held camcorder(s) being turned on and off.
Here is a copy of the layout of the cell blocks so you can see the positions of the various cameras and digital audio recorders.

Cell Block 12
Sounds like ‘Now Get Ready’
Possibly ‘Let me out’
The noise you hear is us walking on the clutter in the prison.
‘Yes’ occurs after the weird whirrring sound
Cell Block 10
This cell block was left unattended all evening with a stand alone camcorder. The evps captured happened at a point when the entire team was outside of the cell compound. This was confirmed because 5 minutes before the first evp was heard the team was heard leaving the building as we passed by this cell block to go to ‘Death Row’ and the ‘Hole’. We were accompanied by our guides at ‘Death Row’ and know for a fact that the prison was empty.
The loud humming sound is the electrical stand alone IR light.
Banging sound
The is the same file but with the banging enhanced.
Footsteps can be heard in background.
Cell Block 8
Cell Block 4
This is the same file enhanced.
Hey Rich it’s possible. It’s hard to tell
Hey guys was listening to the enhanced evp from cell block 4 and just wanted to note that I am hearing 2 syllables that sound like it could be “what the” but I hear a “T” sound to it.
